At Home Spa Treatments

Want to treat your skin to a day at the home spa? Here’s how to give yourself a glowing treatment all with ingredients found in your cupboard.

For the Face

Starting off your day at your home spa, fix your face with a luxurious mask. Simply pull out half an avocado and puree it with a teaspoon of olive oil. Once smooth, apply it to your face and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes. The natural fats in both avocados and olive oil make these two ingredients some of the best natural moisturizers available.

Do you have a cucumber? Cut two cold slices for your eyes for that wonderful anti-inflammatory property they’re known for.

For the Body

Now that the face is feeling full, it’s time to treat the body with a warm bath. However, before settling in with your favorite book or bottle of wine, you’ll need to gather a few ingredients.

For your body scrub, pull out two tablespoons of olive oil, a half cup of sugar, and a few drops of an essential oil of your choosing. Mix those ingredients together and set aside for the bath. Once the water is drawn, drop a full cup of regular oatmeal into the tub. This will help your soon-to-be-exfoliated skin retain the moisture from the bath after it ends.

For the Feet

Finally, after washing off and getting cozy, the last bit of the spa day should involve loving those feet that do so much for us. For this peel, you’ll need one half cup Greek yogurt, two tablespoons honey, one celery stalk, two dashes of coconut oil, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Blend everything together until you have a smooth mixture. Mask your feet with it and sit for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing off.
